Privacy policy
Version 1.1 · Effective October 26, 2026
Smart Phone Fix is a local service business. This page explains what we collect when you ask us for a quote, call us, book with us, or text with us, what we do with it, who else touches it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. In this policy, we, us and our mean Smart Phone Fix. It is written to be read, not skimmed past.
What we collect
- When you ask for a quote on this site. Your first and last name, your phone number, your email, the service you want, and what you tell us about the job. The form also records whether you checked either of the two text message boxes, and the date and time you sent it.
- When you call us. The number you called from, the time, and any voicemail you leave. If we miss your call, we use that number to text you back so you know we saw it.
- When you book online. Your name, phone number, email, the time you picked, and what the visit is for. The booking page also records whether you checked its text message box, and the date and time you booked.
- When you text or email us. What you write, and the name and number you give us.
- When we do the work. The address where the work is, what we did, and what it cost.
- If you pay online. Your card details go straight to the payment processor that handles payments for us. We see that the invoice was paid and the last four digits of the card, not the full card number.
- When you visit this site. The site sets only the small number of cookies it needs to work and to count visits. We do not use your visit to build an advertising profile of you.
How we use it
- To answer your request and give you a quote.
- To schedule the visit, confirm it, and remind you before it.
- To do the work and to send you an invoice.
- To follow up if a request goes quiet, so it does not fall through the cracks.
- To ask you for a review after a job. We ask every customer, by email, and by text if you agreed to texts.
- To send you offers and news about our services, only if you checked the second box on our quote form and said you wanted them.
- To keep the business records the law requires us to keep.
Text messaging and your mobile information
If you check the first box on our quote form or the box on our booking page, we text you about your request or your booking from our business number: replies, scheduling, confirmations, reminders, updates on the work, and a request for a review after the job. Some of these are sent automatically by an automated dialing system. Expect up to 10 automatic messages for each request or booking. Replies to messages you send us do not count toward that. If you also check the second box on our quote form, we send offers, specials, seasonal offers and news about services, up to 6 automatic messages a month. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP to any message for help. You do not have to agree to texts to get a quote, to book, or to buy anything from us. If you do not, we answer your request by phone or email, and send your confirmations, reminders and review requests by email instead. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
If you call us and we miss it, we text you back. When a call to (727) 777-5217 goes unanswered, our voicemail greeting ends with this notice: “If we missed your call, we will text you at this number in a minute. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.” We then send that number one text about the call, and nothing further unless you write back. Reply STOP to that text and we will not text the number again.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We do not share your mobile phone number, your text message opt-in, or your consent record with any third party or affiliate for their own marketing or promotional purposes, and we never provide that information to lead generators. We share your number only with service providers who work on our behalf to send and receive our own messages, and only so they can do that work for us. Apart from those service providers, your text message opt-in and consent are left out of every other kind of sharing this policy describes, and are never shared with any third party. You can withdraw your text message consent at any time by replying STOP to any message, or by calling or emailing us at the contact details on this site.
You do not have to use STOP. Calling us at (727) 777-5217 or emailing smartphonefix04@gmail.com works just as well, and we act on it promptly, and never later than the law allows. Replying STOP stops every text from our number, offers and job updates alike. If you want to keep the job updates and only stop the offers, tell us by phone or email and we will set it that way.
Who else sees it
We use service providers who work on our behalf to host this website, run our phone line and text messaging, send our email, run the booking calendar and the inbox where your messages land, and process payments. They handle your information only to do that work for us, on our instructions, and we do not let them use it for their own marketing. The responsibility for your information stays with us.
We do not sell your information, we do not rent it, and we do not give it to lead generators or to other companies for their marketing. If the law requires us to hand something over, for example under a court order, we will. If we ever need to protect the safety of our people or our customers, we will share what that takes and no more. If our business is ever sold, your records go with it and the new owner takes on this policy. Your text message consent does not go with it: a new owner has to ask you again before texting you.
How long we keep it
We keep the details of a request for as long as it takes to answer you and follow up. If you become a customer, we keep your records, including what work we did at your address, for as long as you are a customer and for the period that tax, warranty, and accounting rules require after that. Ask us and we will tell you what we hold about you.
One record outlives the rest on purpose. We keep the record of who agreed to be texted and who asked us to stop, with the date, the number, and the exact wording they saw, for five years after the last message we sent to that number. Deleting that list is how somebody gets texted after they said stop. It is kept for that reason and used for nothing else.
How we protect it
Information moves between you, this website and the systems we use over encrypted connections. Access to your details and to the record of your texting consent is limited to the people who need them to serve you, behind individual logins. The service providers who host our website, phone line, email and calendar maintain their own security programs and handle your information only on our instructions. No method of sending or storing information is perfect; if we learn of a breach that affects you, we will tell you as the law requires.
Your choices
- Stop the texts at any time by replying STOP to any message, or by calling or emailing us. STOP is not the only way out.
- Keep the job updates and stop the offers by telling us by phone or email.
- Stop marketing emails with the unsubscribe link in any of them. Emails about a job in progress, such as an appointment confirmation or an invoice, still come through.
- Ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We will act on the request unless we need to keep it, and the texting consent and stop record is one we always keep. We will tell you which it is.
- Tell us you want no follow-up at all, and we mark your record so nobody reaches out.
Wherever you live, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and we treat you the same whether or not you ask.
Changes
If we change this policy, the version number and the date at the top change. We keep every earlier version, so the exact page you read when you gave us your number can always be produced.
